October 8th 2024 7pm. Shannon is a leading and well respected professional trumpet / flugelhorn player and vocalist based in Brisbane Australia. He holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Instrumental Performance from the Queensland Conservatorium of Music and has been working as a full time professional musician for over 20 years.

As a vocalist Shannon has multiple albums under his name and many festival performances with his critically acclaimed soul-jazz group the Souls Almighty featuring Australian guitar legend Jim Kelly.

As a widely respected professional trumpet player Shannon has recorded on over 50 albums and is known as the ‘player of choice’ across the South East Coast performing, touring and recording multiple albums with many of of the regions most influential groups including the West End Composer’s Collective, AfroDizziAct, The EMO Jazz Orchestra, Jim Kelly’s Thrillseekers, Greg Lyon’s Hip Operation, Afro Cuban Ensemble Chukalé, The Swing Central Big Band and Aaron West’s Custodians of Funk.

He has performed and toured with many of Australia’s brightest stars including James Morrison’s Funk Show, Luke Kennedy, Emma Pask, Rhonda Burchmore, Wendy Matthews, Glenn Shorrock, Tim Draxl, Vika Bull, Doug Parkinson, Darren Percival, Frank Bennett, Tom Burlinson and Grace Knight to name a few.
